IT literate: Mac OS and OSX, Windows and Linux platforms.
Software: Quark Express. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Streamline, Image Ready, Acrobat, Acrobat Distiller and Macromedia Freehand. Corel Draw and Micrografx design packages.
Pre-press knowledge and experience using Flightcheck and Acrobat Quite a Box of tricks plug-in.
Web design: In-depth knowledge of XHTML, HTML and CSS2. Using PHP templates. Ftp sites, fetch and admin of content management systems. Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks. Adobe Go-Live. Fetch. Basic XML.

Design of Books, Covers and associated material such as book catalogues, leaflets, posters and post cards, Website design. Discussing requirements with publishers, preparing files and sending final copy to print. Nature of books varies, including Childrens books, Fact and Fiction. Alteration of existing artwork for Welsh Language adaptations of popular English childrens books and World Book Day material, as well as original designs for new works. Deputizing for Department Head when necessary, compiling Weekly File of department work for the Director, liasing with publishers and briefing illustrators.

Supporting Project Managers and Designers within the Creative Services Department. Maintaining the Global Asset Management System and various digital archives, ensuring all images and fonts are present and fixing or re-sourcing corrupt files. Source and supply assets such as packaging materials, marketing documents and display units, to clients internationally. Adding to artwork, copy, branding and age ratings in various languages in complex layer sets within Photoshop to localise material for other countries. Amending Quark files for re-packaging deals, creating PDFs and collecting files for print. Work as part of an organised team, managing and responding to fluctuating workflow and schedules.

Colourful, bi-lingual A4 flip calendar, based on the 10 Entitlements for young people. Re-create existing illustrations as vector graphics to improve quality for scaling and printing.
Graphic design and production of Neath Port Talbot 'Directory of Activities'. 200 ring bound, black & white pages, with full colour covers for both Welsh and English language versions. Also create bi-lingual inlays and CD Label for distributing the document in PDF format.

Designed and produced Neath Port Talbot Essential Skills and 14-19 Strategies in associationwith ELWa and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. Researched costs and production,obtained quotes and sent final copy to press as well as producing web optimised PDF. Also carriedout related administration tasks, such as compiling references, analysing questionnaires, letterwriting and mailing for the Strategy s launch. Work carried out to a strict deadline.
